Edward Scott Babcock

He's here! Edward Scott Babcock was born today at 12:03pm. He weighs 6 pounds and 2 ounces and is 19 inches long. We've only heard him cry once today for about 10 seconds; we're sure the love he receives at home tomorrow will change all that.

Tomorrow

In just 18 hours I will be holding our new baby! Lots of preparation has taken place in the past few days. I am hoping that I will sleep well tonight, because I am so tired. Mom and sisters threw a surprise shower. My favorite kind because I didn't have to shower (ha, ha) and because we don't know the gender of our baby (yet) I was showered with gifts for me!

Lots of time with cousins, which means lots of time with women that fill my soul.

Just can't wait to post tomorrow!

Counting Down

The real countdown has begun, our baby will be born this week! Because Baby and I should be home in time for general conference this weekend, the children and I finished preparing our notebooks and treat basket today.

We also dyed 90 eggs this afternoon.

Strikes Again

My best friend strikes again! Yesterday I complained because no one makes cookies anymore. So, she invited me to her house, and waiting for me there were warm chocolate-chip cookies sitting beside a glass of cold milk. Really, I didn't deserve it, but she still did it. Ah, those cookies were divine.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Last night was our family dance at the church in honor of today. We blew bubbles, jumped rope, danced to loud music and played ball. Oh, we ate, too. But when don't we do that?

Today the children and I worked (Austin was at a dental seminar, and then came home and helped, too.). But we did manage to celebrate with lovely green food.

Finally per instructions from my doctor, the infant carrier is washed and ready to be used -- I am 80% effaced and 2 cm dilated. We are going to have a baby soon!

Wedding Pictures

These are my mother's parents. Aren't they grand? I was hoping that one of the Guymon girls and/or one of the Babcock girls might have some wedding pictures of their parents or grandparents on file. My plan is to print the six wedding pictures (Ron and Kim, Virgie and George, Edna and Richard, Bruce and Diane, Lynn and Thelma, and Gladys and Vesper) for my home. It might be a lofty goal, but perhaps one of the 10 of you might have some pictures on file?

Towers

I finally sat tonight, with remote in hand, after a 4 hour stint in the kitchen. Maddie couldn't help herself and built a tower on my baby.

Then, when brushing teeth, Nick ran by me and exclaimed, "Mom, your bum is huge!" He right. It is! (He would know, too. Because, this morning he used my phone to snap a picture of me bent over; I deleted it right away. Not gonna do that to myself.)

Sunburned

Austin went snow shoeing today for 9 hours! He came home with quite the sunburn. Then at dinner Nick asked, "Dad, does your steak have a sunburn?" It was a legit question -- Austin's burn did match the colors of his steak exactly.



(Uh, dinner doesn't look inviting. We had left overs: pasta/breaded eggplant, steak/salad, and green beans. No one complained tonight, so it must have been good.)
