Austin and Nick

Austin is 49 years old!  Nick is 18 years old!  We celebrated them the best we could -- even though they were gone most of their day.

Nick's new suitcases are going to serve him well, and Austin is very smug about is sunshade.
Evening came and we celebrated without Nick (he had a tennis match).  Maisie called and all of our children were on the call -- those are my favorite moments -- when we're all together, even if the connection is a device and the connectivity glitches, we are connected.
Austin's Song (Grandpa called Austin's cake the "Trump Cake" because it is the best one he's had -- I made a lemon/strawberry pound cake.)

The old birthday boy worked all day and came home to fix the sprinklers before dinner.  He smiled quite a lot while the group chat happened and even laughed out loud.  Patient Grandma and Grandpa sat politely and waited.  While falling asleep Austin thanked me for being so good to him -- I did work hard today -- he's worth it.  49 is so handsome on him.

Nick walked in at 9:15pm from a 15 hour day away.  He won his final singles match, so he ended the season 12-1.  He was full of mirth for a full 45 minutes as we were all getting ready for bed.  18 is so handsome on him.  We celebrated his birthday meal and baby apple pies the next night.

More than Enough

Nick made the newspaper for his tennis season -- a 12-1 record is amazing.
These folks were cheap labor in my dinner kitchen.
"Born to read.  Forced to work."  Natalie sent me this t-shirt for my birthday.  I worked hard in it this week.
Molly was fitted for her soft cast.  She still hobbles around, but she is reminded to slow down.
Look at this little ditty.  I love to crochet.
School time is the best time.
Molly finished 3rd grade arithmetic a month early.  I was laughing so hard because her graph is totally wrong.  "Why did you ask for help?"  She replied, "Eddie helped me."  That made me laugh harder.
Molly's Winnie doodle.
These folks are now immunized.  Nick went first and said that it felt like he got punched in the shoulder; he giggled through the whole thing.  Molly was second and was as white as a ghost.  Eddie pined, "OH!" when it was his turn, he also had very big eyes.  Ryan was last -- he teared up, but he did try to be so brave.  The nurse complimented me, "You've done very well with your children."  That was nice of her.

Nick recieved four sticks, Molly received three sticks, Eddie received three sticks, and Ryan received four sticks.  I did punch Nick in the arm the next day when he was teasing.

My nice friend had a birthday and I threw her a party after our HIGH fitness class.
He's old and very clever.
We finished our grammar this year.  I love grammar so much.  Just so much.  Predictablity and perfect placement make me so happy.
I crocheted this little jelly fish for a nephew that was bitten by a dog.
Ryan won another football game.
I put on another stake dance.  The last 7 minutes a deep voice came right up behind me and asked, "You look like you need someone to dance with."  Luckily it was Austin -- he was all cleaned up and there to simply dance with me.  Sweet boy.
Maisie went to Six Flags on her p-day this week.  She's also teaching four friends that are progressing.

Easter Season

Our church leaders wanted us to fill the space between Christmas and Easter with Jesus Christ.  We did that.  With a few ideas from me and a whole lot of collaboration with stake members, our stake put on an original production, "Portraits of Christ."  Maddie and Nick were apart of the cast.  Remembering the life and mission of Jesus Christ is always spiritually rewarding.

Molly entered her artwork.  (I entered my crocheted Jesus.)
Nick as John portraying the Last Supper.
Maddie testifying as Jairus's daughter.

Austin has been building a chicken coop.   Clever man.
Ed, "I don't want to do math.  I want to become a Sith Lord."
Ryan's incriminating photo.

We watched Nick play two tennis matches this week.  He won both singles and one double.
I made him take a few senior pictures.  We eeked out ten minutes of golden hour and made it happen.  "All my friends had theirs take professionally."  "I am a professional," I quipped, "I take hundreds of photos each week."  Thankfully, he's quite photogenic and handsome.
(He illustrated that Book of Mormon cover; he's really proud of it.  He should be -- it's the one art project in his life that turned out brilliantly.)
Grad.
Very tall jumper.
Eddie's wrestling banquet happened.  He had a great season and was an assest to their club.  His coached recognized that he was always on time, worked hard and managed his emotion whether he won or lost.  Goat.

Beautiful bread baked by Mrs. B. (You're shocked that my alliteration rolled of my tongue so readily.)
More tennis.

She was beginning to be lop-sided, so I crocheted a four more vines and helped her out a bit.  She's perfect.
Maddie's track meet happened as well.  She didn't run as fast as she wanted, so she was very sad.  We were glad to watch her.  Maddie's 400m

Molly's dirt bike accident resulted in a broken knee -- lower femur.  She was limping around for 10 days and lost her mind if she got bumped.  Austin and I took her to Flag and she came home with an order for a soft cast.

She was very brave.  I wish McDonald's solved all my problems.
Good Friday was wet and chilly.  We stayed in and relaxed all afternoon and evening.
Of course we stopped and watched "He is Risen."  He is Risen The weeping heavens knew what we were commemorating.
Saturday morning Austin and I hit arms.  "That was hard."  We then stained the outdoor furniture and went to a child's baptism (Molly's friend, Maelynn).  Afternoon happened and we painted the pool deck.
We went bold this time -- terra cotta.  We were hoping the turguoise water will pop.
Austin and I painted the edges -- I used a small brush and caefully applied the bold paint to the uneven edge.
The children filled in all the space with the roller.
After the work came the play.  We hunted for eggs.  Nick had the best reaction.

The Webbs were here with us.
Austin walked away from the group and relaxed on his lovely lawn.  Jelly.
"He is risen!" I testified to all at church.  (Not pictured: Austin in his gray suit and purple tie.)
We spent the afternoon reading from our family Haggadah and connecting the Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Messiah of the New Testament and the Millennial Savior in our worship.

(Seder Feast does not equal Easter ham.  Eesh.)
Easter Sunday on the mound with ice cream.
So glad someone took this picture of me.
Maisie's update:

  • "Nothing big, but miracles everyday."
  • "Pray for Thomas -- he found us."
  • "Seven months on the mission."

Andy's update:

  • Skate boarding is my new hobby.
  • "I'm 'bout to hit legs at the gym."
Armstrong update:
  • Meg flew to Tennessee for Whitney's wedding.  She left Elijah with the babies for two full days.  Of course all was well and happy when she returned home.
  • Bea played peek-a-boo with me while on Facetime.
