Ah, the memories! We spent the weekend at Nelsons'. There was zero stress, amazing food, and HUGE entertainment!

Although Maisie rocks a mullet better than anyone I know, her pixie cut is back!

Weekend Celebrations

Just this past weekend I threw a spa birthday party for Meg. I hardly took any pictures, since I was the hostess, but we had a great time! Facials, aluminum foil make overs, and of course cake.



We celebrated again with the family. Meg and her uncle Jeff have the same birthday, and cousin Millie's is tomorrow. We loved celebrating her thrice.

10. Because she sings at the top of her lungs, graciously giving forced concerts to all Andy's friends.
9. Because she wanted mac and cheese for dinner (I did make it from scratch).
8. Because she wears a size 8 in clothing and 12.5 in shoes.
7. Because she makes a goal in every soccer game she plays; she is fast.
6. Because she giggles in church and Andy then gets in trouble.
5. Because she hides piles of clothes under her bed.
4. Because knows how to take Maddie potty.
3. Because she smiles a lot and is happy -- her laugh is contagious.
2. Because she loves to read, and would only read the Harry Potter series if she had her druthers.
1. Because she is a daughter of God, and our very best oldest daughter, and she is ours for eternity.

Favorite Reading List

I have not posted my reading list the past few months. Perhaps because I am no longer pregnant, so I don't sit. However, I've been wanting to see the movie, "Jane Eyre," but wouldn't go see it until I had reread it. This week I've been staying up until midnight reading the phenomenal novel. Oh, was it powerful! Just tonight Austin took me to see the movie. The movie was a disappointment, as most movies are that are based on books. Yet, I was drawn into it because I just finished the novel last night. I urge all you women, who read that blessed novel in high school, to reread it now, and cherish the virtue and majesty the book possesses. That scoundrel Mr. Edward Fairfax Rochester does deserve Jane Eyre after all.

Besides Jane Eyre the other books that I've read these past few months include:

Anne of Green Gables
Pride and Prejudice
The Swiss Family Robinson
Harry Potter books 1 and 2

I suppose you notice a habit, read a book so you feel good about watching its movie. Or rather, many classics make watching a movie worth it.

New Neigh-bors

Our backyard is home to two horses for the next three days. We are hoping they mow the grass and step on the snakes. Maisie is dying to go out and pet them -- not for me. I'll just admit I am super scared of animals. Period. Especially big herbivores. I obviously need to check out a book from the library to learn more, so I can enjoy the horses.

May Day

Recorded in my history is one number -- 9:11am. Both Austin and I slept in until 9:11 this morning. Happy May Day!

(Really I should record that Osama Bin Laden was killed today -- the leader that led the attacks on 9-11.)
