The last 10 months I've been reading a novel a week. Instead of watching reality TV for 30 minutes in the evening, I read. Instead of napping beside Nick and Maddie, I read. I never thought I could become so accustomed to reading instead of watching, but I have. Here are a few of my favorite novels. (There is no way to properly title these books, because I can't underline, so I will italicize.)

Memories
Last week was filled with too many memories for just one post.
Dad drove us to Utah. The three times we stopped for gas he let the children wash the windows, which ended up with them washing the entire car.
Mom met us on the porch with hugs and bubbles.
Maddie loved Uncle Mark. Mark nabbed Maddie from me every moment he could.
It is a well known fact that more than four people have to be sitting on the couch at once, or all is lost.
The week began with five siblings still at home. These five never shirk a crying baby or whimpering toddler. The next time we get together I won't have Kimmie and Ashley to help me dress the children before church. Funny thing is, I know Em, Mark and Jim will.

Shhh. Another wedding in July! Hooray! Let's just say, Cherie, Natalie and I all "heart" Tyler Standifird. Ashley, you picked a good one.
Sometimes I wish we never grew up. Because then we would never have to leave. I hate leaving my family. But I love the one I've created with my eternal companion. So once again my heart is in two places at once. My roles as daughter and sister only compliment my greatest roles as wife and mother.

After Kimmie and Andrew left for Cancun, we moved the tables and chairs and danced the night away. For an entire hour we blasted music and danced because we needed some stress relief. NOTHING is more fun than the entire family dancing and singing and laughing together. By far, the dance party after the reception was the highlight of the week. Well, the temple was the most important and most rewarding, but dancing was certainly right next to that.
Saturday morning we found ourselves sitting. We sure deserved it.
Later in the afternoon the big boys (my handsome brothers) played "Momentum" on the trampoline. This is a game where a child sits in the center of the tramp while the boys chant momentum 3 times. After the third declaration, they bounce on the tramp simultaneously, which sends the child flying in the air. Here is Meg -- notice her height in comparison to the tops of the boys heads.
Finally, Saturday evening, all the adults went to dinner and bowling. Austin and I were actually on a date, so we enjoyed sibling comradery and adult conversation. The results of the first game ended with Mom in second place. One regret -- we didn't have a camera -- no one brought a diaper bag, so we couldn't document the event properly. Believe me, what a riot we had. (The bruise on my knee is becomes more purple every day, and my right forearm and left bun are sore whenever I use them. Which is always.)

The Reception
I somehow have no pictures from the temple, perhaps because it was raining and cold. However, the reception was beautiful and turned out to be a perfect evening.
Birthday Boys
The day before the wedding Austin and Nick celebrated their birthdays. Nick has never had an audience quite like the one gathered for his present opening.
As if Mom didn't have enough to do, she even brought a cake so all the guests at the rehearsal dinner could sing and partake of chocolate goodness.

It worked out perfectly that while the family was gathered for Kimmie's wedding, Ricky and Mindy blessed their baby, Gracie Mae.

Earrings
Today Meg got her ears pierced! I can't post pictures yet, but I have some good ones of her and cousin Allie. Both girls were brave and happy during the entire adventure.
