A Bundt

There aren't too many first anymore, now that I am in the thick of raising six children. However, today I baked a bundt. And that is a first. I cut into it immediately, and it is so good. Come over and have a piece, it'll make you so happy.

Do Your Ears Hang Low?

(That's the only title I can think of right now about ears.) Since the age of 3, Maisie has been a nail-biter. She's broken the habit time and time again, but couldn't leave it once and for all. This month we made and chart and I inspected her nails every night. After 30 consecutive days of no nail-biting, we went and got her ears pierced today with her BFF. Maisie's chart

Pinewood Derby

This was Andy's first year competing in the derby. Austin spent HOURS on his car. Andy took second by 100th of a second, despite his enthusiastic cheering squad. Maybe next year, boys.

Birthday Boys

Austin is 36 and Nick is 5! Happy Birthday, boys! This morning Austin had to be at church early, but we were able to celebrate Nick. Luckily Austin was home again for breakfast.

Present-opening was exciting. My best gift given today was the 3.5 hour nap that Austin took. He deserved it!

21 guests, a Mario cake and strawberry pie finished off the celebration. So glad the fam could come over.

Three Weeks

Eddie is 3 weeks old today. Although he's only been here a little while, I can't imagine our family without him. He's gained more than 1.5 pounds, and is sleeping through the night. Well, Austin is.

I feed my baby hours and hours everyday and night, so I have a new book to add to my reading list, as well as the books I've been reading to my children.

A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa May Alcott (Loved it! Completely dramatic and romantic, just how I like 'em. An easy read, quick-paced and full of plot twists.) The Chronicles of Narnia The Magicians Nephew The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe The Horse and his Boy Prince Caspian The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (I've really enjoyed coming to know my Savior better as I compare His character to that of Aslan's. The kids fall asleep quickly, so a bit slow for the younger ones, but Meg, Andy and I are enjoying them. We still have two more books to complete the series.)
