This morning is my last morning before school starts tomorrow. I've been wanting to post our vacation to Utah and California for the past two weeks but just haven't done it, until this morning.
I took a million pictures, but really only had one hour to post my favorites. Here is our summer adventure. Love to all my fam, I'm missing you already.

5 K
Every year Highland puts on the "Highland Fling." Pretty much it's a town celebration with rides, booths and traditions. Rachelle, Ashley, Kimmie and I ran the 5K. Pretty much this was the hardest exercise I've ever done. I really thought I was going to die. However, I did run the entire time -- Ash and Kim were super nice to hold back for me. I suppose since my baby was barely 6 weeks old I can cut myself a little slack.

Voice Male
While driving with Ashley to Utah, I told her all I wanted to do was see a "Voice Male" concert. Funny thing is, Voice Male was at the Highland Fling, so my dream actually came true.

I also told Ashley that I wanted to catch up with my dear friend from high school, Cheltsea. And, I ran into her in Walmart and we spent a lovely morning together.

The Beach
California or Bust
Once in Utah, my sweet dad convinced me to stay a week longer and join the fam in the annual vacation to LA. The 15 passenger van, quite snugly, held 16 people, clothes for the week, dishes, boogie boards and food. We were crammed in. Riding this way for 12 hours is a memory that is hardly miserable. The only thing to do in this situation was laugh. Laugh we did!

Here I am sitting beside the "blow." Mom handed it to me on her way in the car, and there was no place left but beside me on the seat.

This is the town my dad's mother grew up in, Panaca Nevada.

Here is her home.

Dinner time in Lancaster.

Our Pew
One might wonder what the Sunday pew looks like without Austin to help maintain the reverence level. To document this phase, I took this picture of the kids as soon as we arrived home from church.
Actually the kids were super reverent today. Austin awarded us with an A+. I still feel badly for the members who sat behind us.....
