SHE'S HOME

Sister Maisie Babcock has returned from the New Hampshire Manchester Mission! We're so glad!!!

My little girl felt so brave in my arms -- I didn't want to let her go.  She arrived glowing with light and filled with purpose.  She beamed. (Mostly the mom gets walked on and hardly recognized or noticed, but not when missionaries come home.  I am always the first one to hug and love our valiant warrior.  NGL, I deserve it.)
Austin joined in our revelry.
And so did her silblings (minus Nick -- the soul soldier still serving).
We couldn't get enough of each other.  We're just so happy she's home.

After we collected her luggaage and stopped to buy new garments, Austin took us to lunch.  The round table fit our needs perfectly.
We had to stop at ROSS, wherein Molly wanted these items.
After meeting with President Hall, we spent the evening eating and playing games.  Austin smacks down the bands, so the fun really happens when we are all vying for the extra cash.  Basically, we didn't want the night to end.
Saturday we were up early for a 10 mile rappelling adventure.  Andy thoroughly fueled -- we laughed so hard that he used a mixing bowl to serve himeself the proper mush quantity.  He ate so much food.  Maisie blended in perfectly with the din of the day, and it almost felt like the last 18 months of separation was just a bad dream.
Instead of prepping for our adventure, I found myself kissing and loving Baby Jell.  She's delicious.
Sedona in the spring is perfect in every way.
Just 30 minutes from our doorstep lands us right into a thickly populated tourist pocket.  Austin's new hobby pushes right past the scores of people and right into the washes and thickets were lulus and heavy perfumes dare not go.  Our canyoneering adventures are not for the faint of heart.  We pushed really hard to ascend, luckily the descent is really worth it.

Our playground.

We got home mid afternoon hungry to be reunited with the Armstrongs.  They accepted our Bocce dinner offering with pleasure.
The resident grandparents took up residence at the picnic table with the twinnies -- they let us love them and help them.
More evening games and more money made.
Sunday we fasted, prayed, and testified.  These siblings fiercely love each other.  This family works hard to choose God and love others.  We live so imperfectly which makes our family unit perfect when we combine and unite our efforts with Christ.
Flag football in word is not an appropriate Sunday behavior, but somehow it deed it feels like it is.  Look at that sky, try to feel the warmth of both temperature and temperment, and drink it all up -- at least that's what we all tried to do.

Evening came and choir happened with gusto and gladness.  Andy's backpack was tickled at their trick.  Andy's Becca endured us all so well.  She's so lovely.

Sweet Nick missed it all -- which made us miss him more than ever.  Maisie pined for his presence; we all did.  Being together for a quick weekend is everything celestial and glorious.  There is so much happiness and hope in eternal family units.  No wonder God wants this for all of His children -- I know I do.

Stake Conference

Our stake is tiny, which means we have glorious opportunities to serve and contribute.  I led the youth in the prelude.
Maddie and Eddie played a duet.  THEY WERE AWESOME!
Molly spoke.  Her talk was practically memorized, and she WAS AWSOME! (Insert Kanye West's song, "God Is," ......"Everything that I have praise the Lord."

Molly was given her topic, then she prayed about what elements she wanted to include, and then she dictated it.  Her testimony of personal discipleship was so sweet.  We are proud of her.

Sister Dusty Rohton passed this note to me; Molly really was wonderful.

All done.
Molly bought us these "grandparent" plates.  She was pretty excited about us using them.  (I didn't the heart to tell her that they are a decoration not a practical piece of pottery.)
It's warming up!  Backyard flag football is a must.
So much of my happiness has everything to do with my children and their proximity.

We spent much of the week preparing all our bedrooms and bathrooms for MAISIE TO COME HOME!  Molly's room took us quite a while -- we needed to navigate clothing buckets, drawers and closet corners.
Nick's room just needed squeaking clean bedding and a good dusting.  Oh!  I staged a fresh plant.
We did take time to read, learn and grow.  (We studied the French Revolution, which meant I needed to read The Scarlet Pimpernel and then watch it.  I have no idea how I had time to fuel my rabbit hole, but I did.  Good times.)
Thursday came and only one chain was left.
We spent a few hours revamping her return poster.

The Armstrong family arrived around 10pm, and Andy and Becca arrived around 11pm.  We were all too excited to separate and find sleep. At 12:30am we knew we needed to try and sleep.

Quite a Bit of Nothing

So much waiting for Maisie to come home this week.
Ryan and Eddie trolled Molly.
Did you guess the proper owner of these slippies? (That's what my dad called his slippers.)
A new 500/1,000 piece puzzle gets pulled out and. completed every couple of days.

My wet hair is so curly.
Wednesday evening I was all alone, so I sewed scripture bags for Bea and Winnie.
The weekend came and Austin had a CE course in Phoenix, so I met him on Friday afternoon and we spent the night out on the town.  First we went to dinner and then off to Gammage's comedy "Clue." I only slept through 15 minutes.
We made it back to our hotel room and fell asleep watching the Olympics.  We were up and home by 9am.  The children were off to clean the office for the next three hours.  A joint workout and a long walk was the perfect ending to our 20 hours together.

We're mostly spending every minutes waiting for Maisie to get home.

Loving to be Loved

We built arks like Noah for FHE.
President Dallin H. Oaks spoke at the BYU devotional on Tuesday morning.  Ryan popped us popcorn and we listened to him.  He reminded us that we need to increase our faith in Jesus Christ, be humble, seek help and be patient.
After the meeting was over he rose and mimed thankful hands as he silently and slowly spun in a circle.   I felt his love for all mankind -- including me -- he loves just as the Savior does.
Evidence of early morning seminary.
Maddie's ALL-CONFERENCE defensive end award was again admired at the school board meeting.
WE love love love Valentine's Day.  Molly spent hours shopping and creating valentines for each of us.
Lovers.
Gamers.
Couples yoga.  (I haven't convinced Austin to try this one.)
The children sang, "Build an Ark" in sacrament meeting witha. few other families.
I love them.
After Austin went shopping, put all the groceries away and made dinner, he filled my pillow with cookies and mascara.  He loves me.  I love him.
